Ward one, office three

There are three ward offices in Shitganga Municipality-9. Due to the geographical complexity of Siddhara spread over 180 square km, ward offices have been established at Karamgaira, Lauri and Bakkachaur for the convenience of the customers.

Initially, the ward office was placed in Karamgaira. It used to take 6/7 hours for the service users from other villages within the ward to walk to Karamgaira. All the remote and scattered settlements inside the forest do not have motor facilities. Ward president Bhim KC said that two more offices have been opened for the convenience of the customers.

Ward office buildings have been built in Karamgaira and Lauri. An office has been kept in Bhakkuchaur for a monthly rent of 2,000. Office assistants are placed in all the three places. Bimal Pariyar in Bakkachaur, Shima Gharti in Karamgaira and Prashu Gaha in Lauri collect and keep the files of the beneficiaries of the village.

``We reach where it is most necessary,'' KC said. Instead of making the clients walk for six/seven hours, we have worked by running ourselves.'

Siddhara village of the old structure is divided into wards 9, 10 and 11 of Shitaganga municipality in the new structure. Ward 9 is made up of wards 1, 7 and 8 of former Siddhara gavis. Currently there is a population of 3 thousand 82 with 572 households. The entire Siddhara is a remote settlement. KC said that although three wards have been created in the new structure, there is a need to create two more wards in Ward 9.

He said, 'One has to walk six/seven hours to reach from one village to another. There are no motor facilities in all the toll settlements, public transport does not run that much and everyone has to walk because there is no car facility at all. Ward Secretary Khagendra Siruwa said that there is also a problem in reaching from one ward office to another. "When walking on the forest path in the middle of the forest, one is afraid of wild animals including bears," he said, "it is an emergency when a motorcycle breaks down." Phones do not work everywhere. You have to travel through the geography of Sarumarani Rural Municipality of Pyuthan.'
