Tributes have been paid in Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, in memory of the monk who died in the Myanmar earthquake.

Monks and nuns gathered near the Baby Buddha statue in Lumbini on Sunday in the organization of the Myanmar Golden Temple and prayed for the eternal peace of the deceased.

Similarly, the monk who died prematurely was blessed by Pandit Sado, a monk of Mymar Golden Temple . According to the Buddhist tradition, 1 thousand 8 islands were lit to wish for peace.

Nepalese, Thai, Chinese, Myanmar, Cambodian, Sri Lankan and Vietnamese monks and nuns from Lumbini participated. It is said that more than a hundred monks died in Myanmar in the devastating earthquake on Friday.
