Katsuaki Kamiji, the mayor of Yokosuka, Japan, has worshiped at Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha. He worshiped at the Chino Dhunga (marker stone) in the Mayadevi temple.

He also observed the Pushkarani Pond, Ashoka Pillar. Mayor Kamiji was informed about the historical and archaeological importance of Lumbini and the Lumbini development master plan by the chief monk of the Rajya Sabha. 

Mayor Kamiji offered a short prayer and meditation for world peace at the Rajya Sabha. Mayor Katsuaki Kamiji, who led the 8-member team, also had a courtesy meeting with Sajruddin Muslim, the mayor of Lumbini Cultural Municipality. 

Mayor Kamiji said that he was happy to feel peace, compassion and harmony in the spiritual environment of Lumbini. He also promised to come soon with his family to such an important tourist source of peace to take spiritual and peaceful energy.
