Out of 137 local and state governments of 37 countries of the world who applied, the best 40 were selected in the first stage
Rupandehi's Tilottama Municipality has succeeded in entering the initial list of the competition among local and state governments around the world that practice good practices in citizen participation.
Ramakrishna Khan, the head of the city, said that Tilotta was shortlisted for the 24th edition of the award by the International Observatory on Participation (OIDP) of Argentina. According to him, 137 local and provincial governments of 37 countries of the world applied for the award and in the first stage, Tilotta was selected among the best 40.
OIDP requested applications for five different subjects through its website, he informed that it was included in the initial list under the cleanliness and green promotion campaign conducted with public participation in Tilotta.
According to the OIDP website, the award winner will be announced at the OIDP conference (conference) in Cordoba, Argentina from May 21 to 23 based on 50 points of online voting and 50 points of the jury's evaluation among the 40 local and provincial governments selected.
After being included in the initial list in Tilotta, Mayor Khan has also appealed to the Nepalis all over Nepal and the world to win by voting through online voting.
OIDP will open online voting for a period of one week before the end of March. While voting online, there is a rule that one person should vote on all 5 subjects, otherwise the vote will be cancelled. You can go to the OIDP website and vote.
Since 2074, Tilottama Municipality has been conducting cleanliness and greening promotion campaign every 15 days with public participation. Mayor Khan said that the 140th series of the campaign, which has been running continuously for the eighth year, has been completed.
