Construction of 112 houses in 9 wards for poor families has started in Thakurbaba municipality. Out of the houses that will be built in this way, one in every ward will be built for families with disabilities.
Tilak Lamsal, head of the municipality, said that an energy efficient and environmentally friendly building is being constructed in partnership with the WIN project and local residents.
He said that buildings that are cool in summer, warm in cold and consume less electricity will be completed within this financial year.
Chief Lamsal said that 375,000 houses will be built with the help of the municipality and other partnerships for people with total disabilities.
'House construction has started for the families of Muktakamaiya, squatters, poor and tagatha wildlife victims of 071 flood victims,' he said, '175,000 will be built for others except for the disabled with the support and partnership of the municipality.'
WIN project engineer Abhishek Karna said that 27 local people have been trained for building construction. In addition to this, he said that an effective structure is being built by collaborating with Thakurbaba municipality in terms of financial support and policy.
