The Health Office Banke also conducted a health examination of the journalists on Sunday while giving orientation on non-communicable diseases.

Naresh Shrestha, public health officer of the Health Office Banke, said that the Ministry of Health has instructed to celebrate the month of February as an awareness campaign against non-communicable diseases.

Head of Health Office Banke Sunita Paudel urged the media to spread awareness as non-communicable diseases are becoming dangerous. She informed that according to the latest statistics, 63 percent of the deaths are due to non-communicable diseases and also urged them to pay special attention to regular health check-ups and diet from time to time.

She asked for regular health check-ups and special precautions in eating. Navin Giri, president of Nepal Journalist Federation Banke, emphasized that awareness should be spread at the community level about non-communicable diseases through communication.

Public Health Officer Shrestha presented a working paper on the situation of non-communicable diseases, precautions to be taken to avoid the effects of non-communicable diseases, etc.
