The 4th Lumbini International Tripitaka Chanting (Recitation) is starting from Wednesday in Lumbini. A four-day recitation is going to be held to spread the message of peace and brotherhood by highlighting the sanctity and spirituality of Lumbini.

The program which started on February 21 with the inauguration by the Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakashman Singh on the south side of the Mayadevi temple in Lumbini will be completed on February 24. The Tripitaka lesson will run from 8:30 am to 5 pm.

More than one hundred foreign monks and nuns from 12 countries have come to participate. In addition, more than 400 Nepali monks and gurus will participate in the organizing committee, Bhikshu Nigrodha Mahaasthavir said.

In tripitaka chanting organized by All Nepal Bhikshu Federation, Sutra Pitaka will be recited on the first day, Vinaya Pitaka on the second day and Abhidharma Pitaka on the third day. On the fourth day, the closing program is held.
