The Ghorahi sub-metropolitan municipality staged a sit-in on Tuesday saying that the Ghorahi sub-metropolitan municipality had increased taxes and given the responsibility of waste management to private companies.
Campaign coordinator Pradeep Mazgaia said that Ghorahi had killed citizens by increasing land and commercial taxes and protested against it in the premises of the Deputy Metropolitan Municipality office. He also said that waste management in Ghorahi has been privatized and it is against the will of the people. He said that in the
sit-in program, solidarity was shown from various sectors including the civil society and in the coming days, more programs will be held to alert the local government.
