An agreement has been signed between the municipality and Nepal Treasure Carbon Limited to provide improved stoves to families in Siddharthnagar who are using traditional stoves.
An agreement was signed between Mayor Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan and Chief Steven on behalf of Nepal Treasure Carbon Limited on Tuesday to distribute improved stoves within the municipality.
Nepal Treasure Carbon will select households that use traditional stoves in Siddharthnagar area with the help of the municipality. Samika Baral, Managing Director of Nepal Treasure Carbon, said that the target is to distribute the improved stoves within 6 months of the agreement.
According to him, the use of such a stove will reduce the use of firewood and wood by 60 percent.
Mayor Khan said that improved stoves are going to be distributed with the aim of improving the health of the residents, reducing environmental pollution and reducing the cost of firewood and firewood for cooking.
