The Lumbini state government has formed a high-level committee to negotiate with the Forest Users Federation. A high-level negotiation committee was formed from the Chief Minister's meeting on Sunday to discuss the various demands put forward by the Community Forest Users Federation.

Mohan Aryal, Deputy Secretary of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers Office informed that a five-member negotiation committee has been formed with Vishwaprem Pathak, chairman of the Agriculture, Forestry and Environment Committee under the Lumbini State Assembly as the coordinator.  The

committee consists of Arjun Kumar KC, a member of the Lumbini State Assembly, Ishwarraj Paudel, Secretary of the Chief Minister and Cabinet Office, Dilaram Panthi, Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning, and Mohanraj Kafle, Secretary of the Ministry of Forests and Environment, as member secretaries.

The negotiation committee was formed after the Federation of Community Forest Users began an indefinite sit-in from Sunday demanding the cancellation of forest yield fees imposed on community forest users groups in accordance with the Provincial Economic Act 2081.
