One person has been arrested in connection with the murder in Rupandehi. On February 8, a woman's body was found in a wheat field on the east side of Bethari Belbas Corridor under Siari 1.
Rupandehi DSP Suraj Karki said that 42-year-old Amiri Tharu (Ajay Tharu) of Tilottama Municipality-12 was arrested for his involvement in the incident. He informed that the found body was that of 40-year-old Sangeeta Chaudhary, a resident of Dang Lamhi Municipality-7 Uchalimbu.
Both worked as wage laborers together. Karki said that the initial investigation revealed that Ajay killed Sangeeta by pelting a stone during a drunken fight after returning from work.
He says that evidence has been found from Ajay who was arrested and the investigation is being conducted on the basis of that evidence. Ajay has been remanded for 8 days by the district court and the police is investigating.
