Vehicular movement has been blocked in the Rukum East-Baglung section under the Madhyapahari Highway. Due to the heavy snowfall, no vehicles were able to run on Friday.

District Police Chief DSP Madhavraj Kharel said that due to snowfall since morning in and around Patihalne, which is about 3200 meters above sea level, the border of Rukum East and Baglung has been blocked. By morning, some big vehicles coming from Kathmandu came. But now there is no possibility of any vehicle movement after the snow has increased,' he said, 'We have requested the vehicles passing through this road not to go.' 

Traffic in this area is blocked every year due to snowfall. After the snow subsides, some take up the challenge and drive the vehicles, but the government and stakeholders have no choice about the way to ease the traffic by removing the snow. The vehicles from Rukum East along with Rukum West and Jajarkot and other districts and from the west go towards Baglung, Pokhara and Kathmandu through Madhyapahari Folkway.
