Drivers, co-drivers and other stakeholders have been trained for tourist-friendly behavior in Banke. Lumbini Tourism Development Council has given training to drivers and co-drivers here on Sunday.
More than 50 Nepalgunj drivers and co-drivers of buses, minibuses, autorickshaws and other vehicles participated in the first phase orientation given by the Lumbini Tourism Development Council. Ramu Joshi, executive head of the council informed that the officers of the transport business association, representatives of transport business related organizations, customs staff, representatives of the transport office and others were trained on the importance of tourists and the minimum behavior to be followed in the
program.
The behavior of drivers and co-drivers, mainly to Indian tourists, has always been criticized. ``Orientation training is also about identifying and spreading the destination,'' he said, ``If more tourists can be brought in, all areas will be benefited.''
Transport businessman Manprasad Acharya, from drivers and co-drivers, complained that even though the transport businessmen have invested a lot in the country, they have not been able to get the returns.
