15 fugitive defendants who have been sentenced and fined at various times by District Court Bardia have been arrested. 15 defendants have been arrested, including 12 accused of domestic violence, 1/1 accused of drug and polygamy, who are on the absconding list.
Suman Tharu of Geruwa rural municipality-3 was arrested and sentenced to 6 months imprisonment in the drug brown sugar case and 200 rupees to be deposited in the victim's relief fund. Similarly, in the case of polygamy, the court Lakshman Tharu of Barbardia Municipality-11 was sentenced to 11 months and 18 days imprisonment and 10,000 to be deposited in the victims' relief fund. By the judgment of 11th August 2008 in a partial case from the district court, the fined Tharu of Badhaiyatal rural municipality-2 was fined 3 thousand 750 rupees in the partial case.
According to District Police Office Bardia Information Officer and DSP Rishiram Ghartimar, the court has arrested 12 people, including Aftaw Qureshi of Gulria Municipality-6, in the domestic violence case. The court has decided to fine 5,000 each to 12 people of domestic violence. He said that 12 fugitive defendants in domestic violence, drug brown sugar, polygamy and partial cases have been arrested and filed in court.
