”My school, my responsibility” campaign started in Palpa

To improve the quality of public schools, the 'My School, My Responsibility' campaign has started in Palpa from Friday. As part of the campaign, Health Minister of Lumbini Province Khem Bahadur Saru reached Janata Mavima in Tansen and Chief Secretary of the province Baburam Adhikari reached Adarsh Mavi Deurali in Ribdikot.

Minister Saru said that he has a duty to support and contribute to the school he studied in. Minister Saru expressed his commitment to support not only Janata Mawi but also other schools as long as they reach their capacity and access. The provincial chief secretary officer said that he has been trying his best to improve the physical and educational quality of the school by reaching Adarsh Mavi in the past and will continue to do so in the future.

The chief secretary officer has informed that the main objective of the campaign is to make people aware of their responsibility and interest in community schools. He said that this campaign was started with the belief that if the former students wanted, there could be many facilities and improvement works in the school, he was always ready to help for that. Although physical facilities are sufficient in Adarsh Mavi, the number of students studying in the school is decreasing.

Ramji Pokharel, chairman of Tansen-based Janata Mavi School Management Committee, said that since there is a lot of support from former students in the educational improvement of the school, if everyone cooperates, the physical and educational quality of the school can be improved. Hariprasad Ghimire, principal of Janata Mavi, Tansen, informed about the entire school. Principal Ghimire informed that there are problems such as lack of IT-equipped classrooms, lack of computers in computer labs, lack of financial resources in hostel management, lack of school buses, lack of learning-friendly classrooms, lack of toilets.

Palpa Chief District Officer Toynarayan Subedi said that efforts to improve the quality of community schools will be successful by joining the campaign as former students. Ramprasad Dhakal, a teacher of Janata Mavi, said that teachers and parents in schools in rural areas are also taking necessary initiatives for improvement and those who have reached special positions to provide more support will reach the school and start the My School My Responsibility campaign.

Under the leadership of the Ministry of Social Development of Lumbini Province, the first phase of the campaign has started simultaneously in 17 schools of 12 districts of the province on Friday. Under the campaign, the Chief Minister, Minister, two former Chief Ministers, State Chief Secretary and People's Representative of the State Assembly have reached the school where they started their studies.
