On Tuesday, there was an interaction between the stakeholders of ROLPA in the headquarters of Libang regarding the formulation of the tourism policy of Lumbini province.

The tourism policy was discussed and debated in the presence of people's representatives, businessmen, journalists, tourism activists and others from the districts of Pyuthan, Dang, Rukum East and Rolpa along with the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Transport of Lumbini Province Government at Deukhuri in Rapti Valley. In the program presided over by Krishna Gautam, director of the tourism division of the ministry, there was a discussion about the tourist spots and their importance in all the 12 districts of the province.

The highest mountain Rukum within the province, from the Sisne snow range in the east to the Terai/Madhes popular and potential tourist spots were also interacted with in terms of identification, importance and promotion. The experts involved in policy making about the tourist spots in Lumbini province are former joint secretary Ramesh Kumar Adhikari and researcher Dr. Keshav Acharya presented the introduction. Presenting the proposal, the official said, 'In the identification and development of the tourism sector, all stakeholders and the local government should have equal concerns and roles before making policies. We have grown.' 

Another scholar, Dr. Acharya, said that all aspects should be taken to increase the importance of the development and income of the tourism industry among the people of the state from Terai to the Himalayas. Development and economic  Lumbini Province Planning Commission member Dr. Sudan Wali said that there will be an increase in activities. He said that the economic sector should also be developed by discussing the prospects and development of the tourism sector.

Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautama Buddha in the state, is a matter of pride in itself, the chief guest of the program, State Assembly member Yamuna Roka Tamang said. She said that having Banke and Bardia National Parks as well as Dhorpatan Sikar Reserve will increase the importance in the development of tourism. Mentioning that it is good that the government has started formulating a tourism policy for the first time, she also directed to make a policy in favor of all sectors and communities.

As part of the tourism policy building campaign being carried out in collaboration with the National Federation of Rural Municipality Nepal, there has already been an interaction between the stakeholders in Banke. 

After the interaction in Rolpa in the second phase, the policy will be formulated through the last phase of discussion and debate in Rupandehi.
