The Lumbini State Planning Commission has passed the second periodic plan through the State Development Council meeting. Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission Dilliraj Aryal informed that the meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister of Lumbini Province and Chairman of Planning Commission Chetnarayan Acharya decided to pass the second periodic plan.
The draft of the periodic plan will be submitted to the office of the Chief Minister and the Council of Ministers after including the suggestions made in the Provincial Development Council meeting and submitted to the Provincial Council of Ministers meeting.
The second periodical plan launched with the idea of 'Prosperous Lumbini: Happy Citizen' aims to build an advanced society based on social justice with sustainable and inclusive economic development. The plan aims to achieve high and rapid economic growth guided by intensive interconnection and quality infrastructure in the production and productivity of agriculture, industry and tourism. Similarly, it aims to create productive employment through the development of entrepreneurship based on professional skills and technology, create healthy and skilled human capital by ensuring universal access to quality education and health, and create an egalitarian society based on social justice by reducing existing differences and imbalances.

According to the provincial development blueprint, the plan has given priority to five main carriers. These include agriculture, industry and tourism, infrastructure development (inter-state and internal connectivity), human resource development, entrepreneurship development and productive employment, green and digital economy and good governance and inclusive development. Sudan Oli, a member of the Planning Commission, informed that 505 result indicators have been prepared by dividing the plan into 11 overall strategies and 22 subject area indicators to implement the plan effectively.
