An adult male elephant was found dead in the Masuro field of Thakurbaba Municipality-4 Khailar on Saturday morning.

The 35-year-old elephant died of natural causes, the park said. Ashok Ram, head of Bardia National Park, said that more information will be available after the post-mortem report. 

For some time, the elephant had been entering the nearby villages and damaging raw houses and crops. Park's wildlife doctor and investigation officer have been deployed at the scene of the incident. The elephant was found dead about 5 km south of the border of Bardia Park.
