17 health institutions of Bardghat Municipality of West Nawalparasi have been declared youth-friendly.
Adolescent-friendly health institution has been announced after teenagers can easily express their problems and questions and trained health workers to solve them.
The announcement was made after the health institution passed 45 indicators and ensured the necessary service facilities, Madhav Gyawali, head of the health branch of Bardghat Municipality informed.
A separate counseling room to be teen-friendly, There are standards such as accessibility of services, confidentiality and trust, services by qualified and trained health workers, information and education, community participation, gender equality and inclusiveness.
Currently, there are 7 thousand 46 teenagers and 6 thousand 699 teenagers in the municipality. Mayor Shambhulal Shrestha said that awareness programs on drug addiction control, suicide prevention, mental health improvement and safe sexual behavior will be implemented in a sustainable manner targeting teenagers.
