The police have arrested a defendant who was absconding after being sentenced to prison in a robbery case 40 years ago. On 24 July 2041, the defendant Sukala Sonaha, who was absconding in the robbery case, was arrested by the district court's order.
District Police Office, Bardia Information Officer and DSP Rishiram Ghartimagar said Sonaha of Geruwa Rural Municipality-6, who was absconding, was arrested while hiding in her own home. The court sentenced him to three months imprisonment. The police arrested 5 absconding defendants including Sonaha on the same day on Sunday and produced them in court.
DSP Rishiram Ghartimagar said that Raju Mishra of Gulria municipality-6, Chetraj Giri of Gairwa rural municipality-3, Bharat Bahadur Tharu, Lakshman Prasad Baishya of the same municipality-3 and Sonaha were arrested and filed in court.
