Chief Minister Acharya's instructions to implement at the basic level
The Lumbini state government has formulated the Gender Equality Policy, 2080 and started its implementation. The gender equality policy has prioritized the development, protection and empowerment of women, children and gender minorities.
The policy includes provisions such as increasing male participation in the prevention of gender violence, conducting skill programs to make women independent. Similarly, Lumbini province has promoted inclusiveness by arranging one percent reservation for sexual and gender minority communities in civil service.
Social Development Minister of Lumbini Province Janmjay Timilsina said that the Gender Equality Policy has been prepared based on the long-term idea of creating a province with gender equality based on social justice and equality. The goal of the policy is to build the foundation for the social and economic transformation of the province by maintaining gender equality at all levels and areas of the province.
Lumbini Chief Minister Chetnarayan Acharya said that for the effective implementation of the policy, the program should be taken to the basic level. Addressing the meeting of the steering committee at the office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers on Wednesday, Chief Minister Acharya said that the implementation of the policy should be focused on problems and locations based on facts and evidence. "Where there is a problem, priority should be given". There are still many inequalities in the society,' he said, 'effective implementation of policies to eliminate those inequalities is the need of the day.'
Minister of Social Development Janmjay Timisilna told charities and associations that programs should be focused on the areas prioritized by the gender equality policy . "We are creating a program to identify the problems in the community and solve them," he said, "The desire to build an egalitarian society is a common theme for everyone." He said that the
policy will promote gender equality and social inclusion throughout the province.
