A meeting of secondary school principals has been held in Rolpa with the aim of improving school education. In the meeting organized by Education Development and Coordination Unit Rolpa in Libang on Friday, an interaction program was also held to improve education.
The manager and principal of the model school presented suggestions and experiences to improve the deteriorating secondary level education. According to the Education Development Unit Office, the program was organized with the intention of bringing equality in school education, creating quality education and paying special attention to the management of community schools. Managers and principals of private schools were also present in the meeting to exchange experiences. During the
meeting, there was a continuous 6-hour interaction and discussion on ways to improve school education. President of District Education Committee and Head of District Coordination Committee Sita Acharya said that she is worried about the deterioration of school education. Initiatives should be started from schools to improve education. There is a need for continuity as meetings and interactions are necessary to improve secondary school results and promote practical education,” she said.
Madhusudan Pokharel, the headmaster of Balkalyan Secondary School, which is considered as a model of the district, shared his experience that he succeeded in making the school quality and attractive only after long efforts. "To improve school education, it is good to have adequate resources, expert and serious manpower, social harmony, high respect for community spirit, new and technology-friendly teaching system," he said.
Leeladhar Panthi, the headmaster of National High School, one of the best in Rolpa municipality, shared his experience of becoming a model school because he was able to make the school student-friendly by loving it like home. "Despite the limited resources, the regular efforts of teachers and parents have succeeded in making the school environment conducive and practical," he said.
Another excellent school in Rolpa city, Krishna Pun, the headmaster of Nepal National High School in Kotgaon, shared his experience of being able to make school education up-to-date with the hard work of parents and teachers. The
interaction was attended by the principals of about 40 secondary schools of Sunchahari, Lungri and Sunil Smriti rural municipalities of East Rolpa including Rolpa Municipality. Most of the principals also gave a presentation about the school's activities, conditions and ways to improve the educational conditions.
Head of Education Development and Coordination Unit Lal Bahadur Ghartimagar said that they are preparing to organize a meeting between the principals of the western schools of the district in Ghartirgaon after two days. The Chief District Officer said that it is expected that all local levels will support the efforts of the district in improving education. Rolpa Nagar head Surendra Ghartimagar said that the budget has been managed to make the school quality and technology friendly. 30-point Rolpa Educational Commitment 2081 has been announced with action plans and objectives to improve education in the district through the
meeting.
It is suggested in the letter of commitment to completely ban junk food in schools, to conduct good practices, to make the school student-friendly and to make the students creative and talented.
In order to guarantee compulsory and free education, it is also requested to conduct a door-to-door campaign with the parents to make the student enrollment campaign effective before the school opens in every academic session. In addition, it has been requested to manage the necessary budget to make every student and school technology-friendly and coordinate with the local level to lead the parents.
There are 90 secondary schools in Rolpa.
