The opposition is united against trying to run the government by ordinance: Deputy Secretary General again

Deputy Secretary General of CPN-Maoist Center and former Minister of Finance Barshman Pun has said that the opposition party will unite against the ruling party that is trying to run the government through an ordinance.

He said that the dignity of the Parliament and the government itself have been questioned along with the objection that the government is trying to operate through ordinances. In a press conference held by Press Center Palpa in Tansen on Thursday, Deputy Secretary General Pun commented that it is wrong to try to run the government through an ordinance.

He said that running the government through ordinances is not acceptable in any way. He also said that the opposition is united to those who are trying to run the government by ordinance by bypassing the parliament. 'Ordinances are necessary, the constitution has also provided,' he said, 'even if it is appropriate to bring an ordinance between one house and the other, it is wrong to issue an ordinance on a general subject.' He raised the question. He said that the government is trying to rule arbitrarily by issuing ordinances disregarding the need to make laws by the parliament. Deputy Secretary General Pun said that not even discussing the

parties, but the parliament of the people's representatives should enact laws if the executive or the government made them, he said that the government could not be held accountable. He said that the government will not be allowed to act arbitrarily by making it accountable.

Parliament and the main opposition have the responsibility to protect the democratic rights of the people, he said, accordingly, he will put strong points in the parliament.
