Due to extreme cold, 2 local levels of the district have given school holidays for 3 days from Wednesday. Kapilvastu municipality and Yashodhara rural municipality have given holidays to community, institutional and religious schools run at the local level from January 9 to 11.

Kapilvastu Municipality Mayor Sudip Paudel said that the leave was published on Tuesday. After 4/5 days of no sun and severe cold, the school was closed because the children were affected. Paudel, the city head of Kapilvastu Municipality, said that the holiday was given because it is difficult for children to go to school when they are angry until noon. 

8 local levels of the district had given leave for 10 to 12 days after the end of the quarterly examination. They have given leave from December 21. However, the school was closed due to the cold weather after the holidays.

There is not much activity in the main market of the district after winter. Common people are sitting in chokchok with fire. People are huddled indoors. People have not gone out of the house except for essential work.
