Food Management and Trade Company Limited Nepalgunj has purchased more than 32 thousand quintals of paddy from farmers in Banke this year. The company has purchased the said quantity of paddy from the farmers in a period of two months.
The Nepalgunj office, which started buying rice from farmers from November 20th, purchased 32,26,080 quintals of rice in two months till December 19th.

He said that the purchase of paddy in Banke has almost been completed this year because the farmers stopped coming after 19 January, did not even call and did not come in contact.
Banke farmers have recently been attracted to medium rice production rather than coarse rice, he said. The Nepalgunj office, which is going to purchase rice 15 days earlier than last year, had set a target of purchasing 40,000 quintals this year, but due to the increase in the demand of farmers selling medium rice, the food company agreed with the central office to purchase an additional 15,000 quintals of medium rice and set a target of 55,000 quintals.
The price of coarse rice is 3 thousand 410 rupees 51 paisa and medium rice is 3 thousand 580 rupees 62 paisa. The office said that the rice was purchased from farmers at the minimum support price set by the government. According to the

Although 673 farmers of the district have registered recommendations at the local level for the sale of rice, the office has informed that 5 68 farmers and 5 cooperatives have brought rice for sale.
