Four youths have been arrested for disorderly activities in the office of Arghakhanchi Chief District Officer (CDO) Baburam Aryal. Police arrested Prakash Belwase, Dasiram Shrestha, Madan Shrestha and Ravin Pariyar of Bhumikasthan Municipality-6 on Monday.
According to the police, they have been detained for further investigation on the grounds that they have behaved indecently to the chief district officer.
Bhumikasthan municipality-5 and 6 border Khilji Udayathanti was organized by the village youth, clubs and various groups. The bus No. 3 B 2471 going from Sandhikhark to Pyuthan ran over the artists who were playing bhailo without control and when the bus ran over them, two people died on the spot. 37 were injured, other artists escaped and saved their lives. 72-year-old Rooney Khanal and 22-year-old Tara Shrestha died on the spot when the bus hit them. On October 20, a large group of villagers, including the injured Belwase, staged a protest in front of the district administration office and the district police office, shouting slogans saying that the police did not show interest in the incident, were slow, and did not arrest the absconding driver. Bhumikasthan city chief Jhavilal Thapa, Balkrishna Banjade and other political party leaders also participated in the protest.
Pushing the police who were in a small group at the gate of the administration office, the protestors entered the office of Chief District Officer Baburam Aryal. Deputy Superintendent of Police Chakra Bahadur Malla said that four people were arrested for investigation on Monday and some others will be detained because they behaved indecently on Aryal in the workroom, which was clearly seen on CC TV. He said that the table of the working room where slogans were raised in front of the
gate and Dhaka was taken into custody for activities against peace. Four youths were detained by the police in two months and 10 days. Mall said that they will be prosecuted for activities against peace. Mayor Jhavilal Thapa has objected to the arrest. He argues that the police administration was not interested in the
incident, neglected to investigate the truth, and arrested the injured who saved their lives by jumping on the bus and the locals who angrily protested for justice, calling it a disorderly activity after a long time.
Locals protested that the police administration had wrongly interpreted the issue they went to seek justice.
