Ghorahi sub-metropolitan city has given a public holiday on Monday 29th of January on the occasion of Maghi festival. Mayor Narulal Choudhary said that Sunday's city executive meeting decided to give a holiday on the occasion of Makar Sankranti-2081 and Tharu Samvat 2648 (Maghi festival).
He said that since the day before Maghi, the special festival of Tharu community, is the day of pig slaughtering, it has been decided to give a public holiday to all offices and community and institutional schools under Ghorahi sub-metropolis on Monday.
