Revenue Investigation Office Butwal has seized the vehicle of Bheri Transport, which was transporting electric cigarettes (Vape) from Butwal to Nepalgunj by evading revenue. It has been seen that smugglers have started using transport vehicles for the purpose of taking electric cigarettes to India via Nepalgunj.

Revenue Investigation Office Butwal has seized 31 lakh rupees worth of electric cigarettes (Vape) which were brought by way of revenue evasion in the vehicle No. Lupr 3001 B 0114 of Veri Transport going from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. It has been revealed in the investigation that the electric cigarettes brought from China are taken to India from Kathmandu, Butwal through Nepalgunj border. The office has arrested two people along with the vehicle and detained them.

Diamond Nepal International's representative Rosen Neupane and Sanaullah Ansari of Banke Nepalgunj, who live in Kaligandaki rural municipality-5 of Syangja, were arrested on suspicion of being involved in the transportation of vape, said Vivek Ghimire, head of investigation office Butwal. "We have arrested both of them and started further investigation," he said, "It seems that they are taking the vape from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj via Butwal and from there to India." He said that when the office checked East-West Highway in Butwal based on confidential information, it was found that 26 were packed in 13 cartons at the rate of 200 pieces in the truck of Very Transport.

In the initial investigation, Diamond Nepal International's employee Rosen Neupane, who purchased from Kathmandu, and Tasneem General Stores of Nepalgunj were found to be the purchaser. Saniullah Ansari was arrested on behalf of the purchasing stores. The purchasing firm is in the name of his wife. After the arrest of the two of them, based on their information, the team of the Revenue Investigation Department, Kathmandu, has also seized 19,000 pieces of vape from Korla checkpoint in Mustang and 86,000 pieces of vape from Kathmandu. Officials involved in the investigation said that it also shows that vape is being smuggled from China with great results.

Even though it is seen that vape is being smuggled from various ports of the country, its main seller and traders who buy it in India have not been found. Ghimire, the head of the office, said that the main smuggler is also being searched for among the two arrested persons. "It seems that both those arrested now are being used as employees," he said, "The search for the main businessman is also going on." He said that the Butwal office of revenue investigation and the department from Kathmandu are also investigating.

Butwal Office of Revenue Investigation has fixed the price of 2600 pieces of vape at 31 lakh and demanded a bail of 62 lakh rupees along with 100% penalty, according to Raj Bahadur Bista, the investigation officer of the office. "When 2,600 pieces were brought, it seems that only one hundred pieces were billed," he said. But the initial purchase price of the said vape is 8 dollars and no other charges are mentioned in it, according to the office.
