Suddhodhan rural municipality of Rupandehi has decided to revise the name and change the long-term thinking of the municipality.
At the time of establishment, the rural municipality decided to name the municipality after Lord Gautam Buddha's father Suddhodhan. However, it has been decided to change the name to 'Suddhodana' due to grammatical inaccuracy in the name. Previously, the name of the municipality was written as 'Suddhadhan'.
Bishnu Bahadur Gharti, chief administrative officer of the municipality, said that the third meeting of the 17th session of the municipality unanimously passed the decision to change the name and the long-term thinking of the municipality.
Executive member Keshav Prasad Adhikari, who is also the spokesperson on behalf of Chairman Bishnu Prasad Basyal, submitted a proposal regarding the purification and long-term thinking of the village council.
His proposal was to change the name of the municipality from 'Suddhodhan' to 'Suddhodhan' and to make the long-term vision of the municipality 'Education, health, agriculture, tourism, infrastructure: good governance and the main basis of a prosperous Suddhodhan Rural Municipality' and to make it 'promotion in economic development: prosperous Suddhodhan'. . Both his proposals were passed unanimously. The changed name and thinking will be implemented after the federal government decides on the recommendation of the state government.
President Basyal said that the Village Assembly passed the decision to make the name pure and change the long-term thinking of the municipality in terms of the use of the name of the village while also absorbing the meaning and relevance of the naming done when the village was established.

The 17th session of the municipality has also approved 10 laws made by the municipality along with the appropriation act of the current year.
