The under-construction bridge has been stuck in Turia river in Ramgram Municipality of West Nawalparasi after an error was found in the design of the concrete bridge itself. The construction of the bridge started in 2077 with the investment of Lumbini state government should be completed in 2079.

During the construction of the bridge contracted by MS Sagun Om Infratech JV Butwal for 879 million, the work was stopped when the river surface and the design of the bridge did not match.  After revising the design, the contractor did not proceed with the work.

It was discovered that the design of the bridge was flawed when the river was filled with sand until it reached the surface of the bridge. Ramgram municipality ward number-6 is in the stage of construction of a paved road from Pokharapali to Panditpur at a cost of 40 crores.

When the bridge was suspended, the passengers traveling through this road were also affected. Hitendra Rayamazhi, Chief Engineer of West Nawalparasi, Road Infrastructure Office under the provincial government, said that the contractor did not proceed with the work despite repeated requests.

Although there was an agreement to advance the work by increasing the height of the bridge, the work has not started. The locals have been demanding that the work of the bridge be carried forward immediately and completed by the next rainy season.
