Butwal sub-metropolitan city has decided its national anthem. The city song has been implemented after the approval of the 16th Municipal Assembly which started on Wednesday. The municipality issued a notice for combining the lyrics and rhythm of the song.

14 people submitted their words. Among them, the words composed by Dillinarayan Pandey of Butwal are considered to be the best, said city chief Khelraj Pandey.

"We have used and promoted the song that shows the art, culture, lifestyle and importance of Butwal," he said, "The city song will help the citizens to highlight their belonging and the importance of Butwal."

In the folk song, Butwal's art, culture, history and the situation where the citizens of the hilly district used to sell ghee in Butwal 50 years ago and return to buy salt with the proceeds have also given a message. The song connects the Terai fertile land, Tinau river, Ramapithekas, Buddhavalli on the side of Chure hill.

Similarly, the song also shows the importance of historical places Ujirsingh, Manimukund, Jitgarhi Fort, tourist places Basantpur, Nuwakot.

Pandey, the composer of the song, said that the song expresses the fact that Butwal excels in agriculture, industry, business, education and health. Before this, Tilottama municipality has also made its own town song and brought it to public.

These are the words of Butwal's national anthem:

Chure Pahad, Fertile Terai, Tinau Kalkal

Ramapithekash, Buddhavalli Gaurav Butwal.

Many languages, religions, cultures, castes

Vasantpur, Nuwakot smiling above.

Manimukund, Ujirsingh, soil of Jitgarhi

This is the path of ancestors who used to sell ghee and exchange salted oil.

The wave of agriculture, industry, trade and tourism

The country's best education, health, modern city.

A mine of natural heritage and civilization

Siddhabhumi Butwal residents are lucky.

Our Khashayuli, good Batauli, dear Butwal.
