Rolpa Municipality gained some attention by rescuing two women on the road. The event that the people's representatives joined the effort to rescue and restore people on the streets of the city also garnered applause for some time.

But that action did not last long. The woman was rescued from the road and kept in a safe house. Treatment was done for some time. But now both women are back on the streets. After the rescued women returned to the streets again, questions have been raised on the municipality.

Can the city save the people who came to the streets again? What is the city thinking about creating a new policy for that? Rolpa city is under siege due to many questions.

Two women from Libang who came to the street after being ignored by their family can now be seen on the street in Libang. Even if the mental condition is not completely impaired, there is no one to take care of them and treat them humanely . Seeing the same situation, Geeta Thapa Acharya, deputy head of Rolpa Nagar, led the rescue on her own initiative and took her to the safe house next to the hospital. They were also treated there.

"After being asked by the civil community to rescue the two women on the road, the city spent some money to rescue them," said Acharya, deputy head of the city, "but they were released from there as they could not be kept in the safe house for a long time." Then they came to the streets as before.'

Earlier, a woman was taken to an ashram in Butwal on the initiative of the city. According to Deputy Chief Acharya, three years ago, the city saved a woman and two men by allocating some budget funds. According to journalist Dinesh Subedi, who facilitated the delivery of a humanitarian aid to the ashram, one of the two men who were taken to the ashram has died and the other is being treated there. Before that there were four/five people on the road in Libang.

According to Matilal Dangi, the ward president of Rolpa municipality-10, it is justified for the local level to take the initiative to rescue and treat people on the streets. He argued that it is good for the civil community to be optimistic and ask the local government. "If it is necessary to rescue such people immediately, it should be led by the local government," he said.

Chairman of Ward No. 7 Lal Bahadur Ghartimagar also said that a person of Terai origin has been living without care for a long time in Madichour area. "It is good to have a solid policy for their rescue and management when they see those people who seem to be abandoned by their families. .

Nagar Deputy Chief Acharya also said that when women are left unattended on the streets, serious questions are raised about their safety. Seeing women on the street hurts our hearts. But there is still no solid policy to rescue and manage them. What to do when a person's heart hurts?,' she asks. She argued that it would be better if the executive meeting of the city could make a concrete decision.

Chief District Officer Khim Bahadur Rayamazhi informed that bereft people were found in the market areas including Sulichour, Holeri and Ghartigaon, just like in Libang. "The local government can save the street people and take an interest in their management and make a concrete policy and act humanely," says Prazia Raimajhi, "For this, the support of the local administration comes from us." It is necessary for people's representatives who are representatives of district coordination committee and local governments to think seriously and work.'
