Gulzar Lumbini by spiritual activities

Lumbini area, the birthplace of Buddha, has started to become Gulzar after the spiritual activities that have slowed down since the Corona period have started increasing recently.

The hoteliers of Lumbini are also excited after the tourist activity which has declined after the corona infection has started increasing slowly. The 10-day Shakyamollam Puja of the Shakya sect was also held in Lumbini from December 8 to 17. More than 500 lamas, monks/nuns and worshipers from different countries participated in the worship. Likewise, 2,500 indigenous lamas, monks/nuns, worshipers/worshippers participated. This puja, which was continuously performed in Lumbini for 25 years, was stopped for the last 8 years . The worship performed in India for eight years continued in Lumbini.

When coming to Lumbini, the organizers moved the puja here to Bodh Gaya in India since 2014 saying that the guests and participants were uncomfortable at the border. According to Rajan Basnet, information officer of the fund, the organizers have come to perform puja in Lumbini after the request of local people and Lumbini Development Fund. "The significance of the slogan that the state has used for years as the source of world peace has just started," he said.

Citizen leaders say that the environment created by the current program to reach Lumbini for world peace . Bhikshu Sribajir, deputy professor of Lumbini Buddhist University, said that programs for peace are important because they help to reduce non-violence and conflict in the world. Likewise, world peace worship and sermons were held for 10 days from last November 19 to 23 at Pal Thupthen Sedup Ling Vihar (Thousand Buddha Temple) in Lumbini. More than 300 worshipers from America, Britain, China, Canada, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Germany came to Lumbini to hear the sermon. Former king Gyanendra Shah also attended the inauguration of the newly built temple on November 22. This is one of the most attractive and charming viharas in Lumbini belonging to the Mahayani sect. 

Bhikshu Maitri Mahasthaveer said that it is very important because it is worshiped to commemorate the day when Gautama Buddha returned to Prithviloka after imparting Nirvana knowledge to Mother Mayadevi in ​​Tuchita Loka . "Lumbini has become a suitable environment for those who seek peace and spirituality," he said. Now the viharas and monasteries in Lumbini should take turns and move forward to hold similar programs every month.' 

Likewise Gayden International Foundation in Lumbini, Austria performed Dev Avtar Pooja at Gayden Vihar from November 21 to 23 . The Singaporean Vihar here performed the Zoodhan Puja from November 22 to 24. There were more than 1,000 participants including 200 foreigners in this program.

Senior Vice President of Lumbini Hotel Association Leelamani Sharma said that if peaceful and friendly events start like this, there is no need to promote Lumbini at home and abroad. "Such programs will send the message to the world that Lumbini must be visited to observe and study spirituality," he said, "It will also help in tourism promotion." The last two big pujas in Lumbini have shown some improvement in the hotel business here, said Purushottam Aryal, General Secretary of Lumbini Hotel Association. "The hotels in Lumbini were full during the puja, and the guests were staying till Bhairahawa," he said.

There are 82 hotels in Lumbini area ranging from normal to star.
