Convocation of the fifth session of the Lumbini State Assembly

The fifth session of the Lumbini State Assembly has been called for the 16th of December. The cabinet meeting held on Monday of the state government decided to recommend the state chief Krishna Bahadur Gharti for convening the state assembly session on January 16.

The annual session of Lumbini region ended on August 31st. Three and a half months after the end of the annual session, the government is going to call the winter session. According to Ishwari Prasad Acharya, Information Officer of the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, the annual session passed 6 bills with a two-year validity. The session could not be convened for a long time as the government could not give business to the Lumbini State Assembly. 

In the fifth meeting of the provincial assembly, it was passed by the provincial assembly and approved by the speaker Tularam Gharti and sent to the provincial chief Krishna Bahadur Gharti for verification. However, the provincial chief Gharti sent both the bills back to the provincial assembly on October 22 with a message that there was a need to reconsider them. The Provincial Assembly is preparing to take both bills to the Consultative Committee on the Working Arrangements of the Provincial Assembly to submit them for further discussion. 

The Secretary of the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, Durbarkumar Pun, said that the time to submit both the issues returned with the message of the provincial head to the provincial assembly will be decided at the meeting of the Working Arrangement Consultative Committee. The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning of the province will submit a bill to regulate economic procedures and financial responsibility in the meeting of the Provincial Assembly held on January 16. The Ministry of Economic Affairs has already registered the Bill in the Provincial Assembly Secretariat.
