The Supreme Court has issued an interim order to suspend the recruitment process initiated by the Lumbini Public Service Commission. After the interim order, the work related to the recruitment of employees, including examination and answer sheet checking, which is being conducted has been suspended.

The State Public Service Commission, based on the recommendation of the state government, started the process of recruiting employees through 7 types of advertisements from the fourth level to the deputy secretary level. The Commission had requested applications for the recruitment of staff on August 28. However, the employees working in the provincial ministry and other levels filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding a ban on the recruitment of employees through open competition. They demand that 30 percent of the vacant posts should be filled by promotion instead of keeping them open.

The Supreme Court gave an interim order to stop the recruitment process for the time being on Tuesday after hearing the writ petition. According to Rajendra Prasad Panthi, Deputy Secretary of the State Public Service Commission, after the interim order, the coding of the answer book and checking of the answer book has been stopped due to the written examination for the Deputy Secretary for Irrigation. The exams of civil group, highway (road) group, veterinary doctor, forest group etc. have been postponed.
