'Ghumn Jaaun Bardia' campaign started

Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, Chetnarayan Acharya, has requested everyone to visit the important tourist destination of Bardiya once.

Chief Minister Acharya while inaugurating the 'Ghumn Jaaun Bardia' campaign under the tourism promotion of the state government in Thakurbaba on Thursday said that there are tourist destinations including Bardia National Park, religious and historical tourist destinations. This campaign has been running throughout the current year of the Lumbini State Government. 

With the aim of increasing the number of tourists from Lumbini to Bardia and increasing the economic prosperity of the province, the 'Ghumn Aaoon Bardia' campaign has been launched. Tiger is the main attraction for Bardia tourists. Recently, the number of foreign and Indian tourists to see tigers in Bardia has increased. Dolphins found in Bardia National Park, Jungle Safari Daulatpur Ghat are also becoming an attractive destination for foreign tourists. 

Addressing the campaign launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Transport of the Lumbini State Government and Thakurbaba Municipality, Chief Minister Acharya said that economic prosperity, youth self-employment plan has been initiated from the tourism sector and it has been started from Bardia. 

He also said that the state government will provide 10 days time for civil servants to visit domestic tourist areas. Those who are in all bodies including associations, institutions, schools, cooperatives have requested to take time out to visit Bardiya once. Acharya also said that the campaign of prosperous Lumbini, a self-sufficient province, is possible through tourism.

Tourism Minister Prachanda Vikram Neupane said that the goal is to bring in tourists in all the districts of the province by making the Lumbini tourism circuit. He said that the two major tourist destinations of the province have been launched through tourism in connection with Lumbini. Gautama Buddha's birthplace Lumbini and Bardiya  He said that the goal is to connect the most important destinations of the province for Thakurdhar tourists, to add tour programs and to bring tourists to the tourist destinations of the entire province. 

Tilakram Lamsal, head of Thakurbaba Municipality, said that the Krishnasar area has been set aside for tourism and wildlife protection in Bardia, and after conducting the campaign, it is believed that tourists will increase.

Biodiversity different from other national parks of the country is in Bardia National Park, one can see herds of tigers, rhinos and wild elephants as well as various types of birds like Chital Zarayo Biharsinghe . Tourism ministers of all 7 ministries of Lumbini province, heads of municipalities, political parties, conservation workers, tourism professionals, representatives of social and educational associations also participated in the program.

Tourists who come to see tigers in Bardia National Park enjoy watching Tharu culture dances with costumes. Meals are available at Tharu Homestay. He said that it is also fun because it is between the Babai and Karnali rivers, which are full of nature. Here, tourists can visit Krishnasar conservation area, Badhaiyatal, Kedarshvardham, Rajapur Ganesha Temple etc. . 

There are 23 Thakur homestays in Thakurbaba and more than 30 Tharu homestays in Madhuvan municipality. "After many tourists come in, guides will get a job, local milk, fish, meat, eggs, greens, vegetables and fruits will increase in grain production and hundreds of young people will get jobs," said Lamsal, "We at the local level of Bardia have also conducted activities with tourism as the first priority." '

park's senior conservation officer Dr. Ashok Kumar Ram said that 16,000 tourists saw tigers last year. He estimated that tourists can increase this year after the provincial government conducts the campaign. There are 125 tigers in the park. There are 61 species of mammals including panthers, one-horned rhinos, leopards, donkeys, jackals, chitals, rhinoceros and wild elephants, more than 42 species of reptiles and 513 migratory birds.

In the current year, the provincial government has allocated a budget of 45 million rupees under the title of tourism promotion, fair festival, and capacity development. According to the ministry, the Let's visit Bardiya program has been organized as part of this.
