After a person died in a truck collision on Monday evening, his relatives blocked the East-West highway on Tuesday.

After the death of 18-year-old Sonu Gurung of Rapti Rural Municipality-3 Vasantpur in Dang due to a truck collision, his relatives blocked the road in Rapti Rural Municipality-2 Lalmatia from Tuesday afternoon, demanding compensation, said DSP Ishwar Thapa, District Police Spokesperson. Vehicles traveling east-west are stranded after the road is blocked.

When the truck number Ba 4 B 2261 going from Surkhet to Bhairahwa hit the motorcycle number Ra 8 P 4146 coming from the opposite direction of Katesh Nalam, Rapti Rural Municipality-2 under East-West Highway, the driver  Gurung died.

The injured driver was taken to Bhalubang Hospital for treatment and the doctor declared him dead. DSP Thapa informed that 41-year-old Som Tamang of Sunapati rural municipality-5 Ramechhap, the truck driver, has been detained and further investigation is being conducted into the incident.
