An agreement has been reached between the municipality and the builders for the implementation of the third phase plan for the construction and expansion of the physical infrastructure of Siddharthnagar, which will be operated with the main investment of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

On Thursday, an agreement was signed with EKK Infrastructure Limited India to build infrastructure including roads in Siddharthnagar under the Urban Resilience Livelihood Improvement Project (URLIP) plan with a joint investment of 1.18 billion rupees by the Asian Development Bank, Government of Nepal and Siddharthnagar Municipality.

In Asian Development Bank's loan investment, 75 percent will be funded by the Nepal government, 18 percent by the Urban Development Fund and the municipal loan agreement, and the remaining 7 percent will be financed from the internal resources of the municipality. It is mentioned in the contract that the construction company should complete the plan within 900 days of receiving the mandate to work after the

agreement. According to Siddharthnagar Municipality Chief Istiaq Ahmed Khan, there will be construction works such as drains, footpaths, safety railings, gutters, electricity, state lights, road paving, RCC slope and city beautification. He asked the construction company to consider this project as a pride project of the city and to complete it on time.

Uma Adhikari, Deputy Head of Siddharthnagar Municipality, said that the plan has reached the stage of implementation due to the tireless efforts of the municipality and the municipality will fully facilitate the construction of the plan.

Under the Asian Development Bank's loan investment, this URLIP scheme is in the process of being operated in Tilottama, Devdah, Sainamaina, and Lumbini Cultural Municipalities along with Siddharth Nagar in Rupandehi. In that municipality, the plan is under study for operation.

Chief Administrative Officer of Siddharthnagar Municipality Janak Thapa said that this plan will be implemented within one or two months after the agreement.
