Two Nepali girls who were found stranded in New Delhi, India were rescued and handed over to their relatives in Bhairahawa. Two teenage girls, 15 years old and 16 years old, residents of Sahid Municipality-4 of Dhanusha, were rescued on Saturday and handed over to their relatives at District Administration Office Rupandehi.
They were rescued and brought to Bhairahawa in collaboration with the organization Kinna Nepal, which works against human trafficking in Nepal, and Kinna India Foundation, which works in India.
After getting in touch with an unknown Indian woman through the social network TikTok, those teenagers ran away from home and reached Delhi, but they were stranded when the woman did not contact them in Delhi.
'When we got the news that the girl was found stranded by the Indian police at the New Delhi railway station in India, we rallied for rescue,' said Manav Shrestha, the rescue officer of the relative India Foundation in Delhi. According to him, a teenager from Dhanusha Kamala Municipality-3, who was found stranded along with the girls, was taken from Delhi after the legal process. It was entrusted to relatives.
Rupandehi Chief District Officer Vasudev Ghimire said that the Dhanusha Police will be contacted to search for the people involved in taking them to India.
