Nepalgunj sub-metropolitan city has started taking action against those who throw garbage indiscriminately. The action has been started with the aim of discouraging those who throw garbage on roads and public places.
Just on Tuesday, the medical hall was fined for throwing medical waste on the road.
Hari Om Medical Hall at Tribhuvan Chowk Southern Line was fined Rs 5,000 for throwing medical waste on the road, City Police Chief Police Inspector Surya Bahadur Bogti said.
Health division and city police team found that medical waste was thrown on the road during the inspection, according to 'Nepalganj sub-metropolitan waste management act 2075', Vinod Kumar Gupta, the proprietor of the medical hall, was fined and punished.
Health Division Head Ram Bahadur Chand, City Police Chief Bogti, City Police Assistant Inspector Pawan Kanojia went for monitoring.
Just a week ago, the Nepalgunj sub-metropolitan municipality fined Ankit Medical Hall and Ankit Ultrasound in front of Bheri Hospital 5,000 rupees after they were found throwing garbage on the road.
Before that, Nepalgunj-based Ashirbad Paints Pvt Ltd was also fined Rs 10,000 after throwing garbage in public places in the first week of November.
The Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan Municipality, which has been promoting awareness to make the city clean, tidy and beautiful, has also started taking action recently. City chief Prashant Bista said that vigilance has been increased against littering .
