Dengue and scrub typhus patients have been seen in the district. During the health examination of the patients admitted to the district hospital, dengue infection was confirmed in eight people.
Head of District Health Office Gokarn Giri said that the number of dengue infected people in the district since July is more than a dozen.
Dr. Subhas Pandey, the medical superintendent of the hospital, informed that 8 out of 147 people who had their blood tested at the district hospital were found to be infected with dengue. According to him, the infection of scrub typhus has been confirmed in 27 people after conducting blood tests of 252 people.
'This data is only for the district hospital. The number of dengue and scrub typhus patients has increased throughout the district this year, said Dr. Pandey, and the symptoms of fever up to 140 degrees, ringworm, eyeballs, breathing problems and fainting have been observed.
Because there is no ICU in the district hospital, there is a compulsion to refer patients with complicated cases outside for treatment.
