Rishi and Kamal to receive 'Libju-Bhumju Award'

The award is given to the best poem in the Wambule language published throughout the year in the quarterly magazine 'Libju-Bhumju' (Ek Libju-Bhumju) in the Wambule Rai language.

Wambule (Ombule) Rai Sahitya Prakashan has decided to jointly award the ‘Libju-Bhumju Puraskar’ for the year 2082 BS to Rishi Bahadur Rai and Kamal Kirati. This award has been given to the best poem in the Wambule language published in the quarterly magazine ‘Libju-Bhumju’ (Ek Libju-Bhumju) in the Wambule Rai language throughout the year.

The award selection committee formed under the coordination of lexicographer Avinath Rai has made this decision. Rishi's poem titled 'Lam' (Path) published in Ik Libju-Bhumju Quarterly Issue 28 (101st series of Libju-Bhumju), 2082 Baisakh-Asar and Kamal's poem titled 'Kavi Kawa' (Poet Friend) published in Ik Libju-Bhumju Quarterly Issue 31 (104th series of Libju-Bhumju), 2082 Magh-Chait have been selected for the award. 

Poet Rishi, known as 'Agyat Rishi', was born on Bhadra 12, 2041 in Chyanga, Katari-3, Udayapur.  He has completed his master's degree in sociology from Tribhuvan University. He has been writing poetry, essays, and short stories in his mother tongue, Wambule, and Nepali. He is also the Katari Udayapur correspondent of RSS. 

Similarly, Kamal Kumar Rai, also known as Kamal Kirati, was born on 26 Poush 2045 in Simkaku, Manebhanjyang-3, Okhaldhunga. He has studied journalism up to the bachelor's level from Tribhuvan University. He has been writing in the genres of poetry, stories, and essays. He is involved in modern agriculture and animal husbandry while living in the village.  

Senior journalist and lyricist Pushpahari Campa Rai, working at Nepal Television, has established the 'Libju-Bhumju Award-2055'. The award consists of five thousand rupees and a certificate of honor. The award will be distributed at the 27th Wambule Rai Language Poetry Symposium to be held in Waksa village, Manebhanjyang-2, Okhaldhunga on 20 Mangsir 2083.
