A 'Poetry Concert' has been organized in the 55th series of the 'Chiyasang Kavita' program, which is being conducted every Friday in Dhankuta. The 'Poetry Concert' program, organized by presenting literature and music on the same stage, has added a new cultural flavor to literature lovers.
The participants of the poetry concert organized at the Multipurpose Pathshala in Madanchowk, Dhankuta paid a fee just to listen to the poems. Poets Uttam Tumsa Limbu and DR Phuyal recited about a dozen poems each at the program. They presented the events happening in the society, personal experiences, love, pain and various aspects of life through poetry. Limbu has been living in the capital for a long time and has been active in various genres of literature. Bhojpuri artist Tejendra Gandharva presented more than half a dozen songs to the melodious tunes of the sarangi. His songs covered various experiences of life and social surroundings.
The organizers say that the poetry concert organized in Dhankuta has brought literature and music together and given a different experience to the audience. Radio Dhankuta FM 106.2 MHz operating in Dhankuta has organized the poetry concert program. Radio Chairman Gopal Baraili has been conducting the poetry program with tea regularly every Friday in Dhankuta since a year ago. Baraili said that by organizing this concert, literature has been promoted in a new way and the overlooked talents have been exposed.
The 'Poetry with Tea' program was started in the month of Magh 2081 on the initiative of some literature lovers. In this program, which has been conducted regularly every Friday since Falgun 2081, participants have been getting the opportunity to present poems, ghazals, free verse and songs.
Indramani Parajuli, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of Koshi Province, was present as the chief guest at the program. Minister Parajuli mentioned that the 'Poetry with Tea' program is spreading a positive message not only in Dhankuta but also across the country. He also pledged to contribute Rs 10,000 to the 'Chiyasang Kavita Akshaya Kosh' for the continuation of the program.
