The ‘Dinesh Gupta Talent Award-2026’, established with the aim of infusing new energy in the literary field and encouraging emerging talent, has been awarded to Bhojpuri writer Subhash Kumar Baitha. The award was presented to Baitha at a ceremony held in Birgunj on Saturday.
The chief guest of the ceremony, Madhesh University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Deepak Shakya, handed over the award to Baitha.
This is the first award established in his own name by writer Dinesh Gupta. Baitha was awarded Rs 11,000 in cash, a certificate and a citation for his famous Bhojpuri works, the novel ‘Gaon’ and the poetry collection ‘Ladai Jingi Ke’.
Speaking at the ceremony, the founder of the award, Dinesh Gupta, said that he had established the award to boost the morale of new talents in the Bhojpuri literary field.
