Amid the recent increase in the number of diabetic patients in hospitals, a book titled 'Goodbye Sugar Addiction' has been released in Dhading.
The book 'Goodbye Sugar Addiction: Free Your Mind, Heal Your Body' written by Dr. Tribhuvan Chandra Jha, Acting Director of Dhading Hospital, was released at a program organized on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of Dhading Hospital. The book was released by Bagmati Province Health Minister Kiran Thapa.
The book was written with the aim of raising public awareness about the increasing chronic diseases such as diabetes, obesity and heart disease due to excessive sugar consumption. The book explains with scientific basis how sugar addiction develops and its long-term effects on physical and mental health. It also mentions the risks of excessive sugar consumption leading to diabetes, obesity and heart problems.
Stating that the number of diabetic patients is increasing due to failure to improve diet and lifestyle, the book covers the topic of what kind of diet and lifestyle can be adopted to control sugar. The book also provides information about the symptoms of diabetes, precautions to be taken in case of high sugar levels and treatment methods.
The speakers participating in the program praised the author Dr. Jha, stating that the book is useful for every citizen.
Dr. Jha, who has previously written the book ‘Ultimate Emergency Medicine’, which is useful for doctors, nurses and paramedics working in emergency services, is an expert in General Practice and Emergency Medicine (GPEM).
