Anushka Silwal's poetry collection 'The Burden of Breath' has been launched.
Professor Govinda Bhattarai, publisher 'Mandala Book Point' Madhavalal Maharjan and Anushka jointly launched 'The Burden of Breath' at an event organized in Kathmandu on Saturday.
24-year-old Anushka said that the 'idea' for the book came to her while hiking in Manang. 'I don't know when I started writing. I wasn't interested in writing even when I was in college. But, when I finished college, I started writing. That too, poetry,' she said, 'I chose the medium of poetry to express myself. Where a lot can be expressed in a few words. This book has given me a lot.' At the event, Anushka also recited a poem included in the book.
She revealed that she thought of the name of the book while struggling to breathe during the hike. 'I was trekking uphill when my breathing was so fast. At that time, I had to struggle to breathe,' she said, 'When I reached the top of the mountain. The view from there was very different. It was a very different experience. That's when the name of the book came up.'
Professor Bhattarai, Associate Professor Mahesh Poudel, Sujana Ghimire and Gauri Pradhan commented and reviewed the book at the program.
Publisher 'Mandala Book Point' Maharjan said that seeing Anushka's passion for literature, she published her poetry collection. 'I would like to thank Anushka for putting her poetry into a book in a beautiful style,' he said.
