A memorial book has been published in memory of education and social worker Upendra Pokharel and his religious wife Durga Pokharel. In a program held in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Professor Dubinanda Dhakal, Dean of Faculty of Humanities and Sociology of Tribhuvan University, former Ambassador Rajeshwar Acharya and others jointly launched the 'Durga-Upendra Smritigranth'.
Friends, relatives and experts have discussed the contribution of Upendra Pokharel in the field of education and social service and Durga's courage as a half-sister in the memorial. In the 95 articles included in the memoirs, the lives of Durga-Upendra and their association with them have been remembered .
Upendra Pokharel, who is also a writer, taught at Dhankuta campus under Tribhuvan University for a long time. Durga Pokharel was especially active in social service. In the
program, Professor Anjana Vasti Bhattarai, while reviewing the Smriti Granth, said that the Smriti Granth vividly depicted the era lived by Upendra and Durga. During the
program, Rajeshwar Acharya, former ambassador and Upendra's peer, praised and remembered Upendra Pokharel's sense of humor, positive thinking and helpfulness while discussing the memorial. Tanuja Pokharel, daughter of Durga-Upendra, conducted the launch program. The Smriti Granth Durga-Upendra Smriti Granth Publication Committee compiled and published it.
