An Akshaya Kosh of 27 lakhs has been established for the purpose of regularly awarding the award established in the name of National Poet Madhav Prasad Ghimire.

The decision was taken at a meeting held on Saturday evening under the chairmanship of Marsyangdi Wangmay Pratishthan, Vijayraj Neupane. Mahakali Ghimire, the wife of national poetess Mahakali Ghimire, has donated 16 lakhs for Akshaya Kosh and other family members have provided the amount.

Every year on the occasion of the national poet's birth anniversary, a person  Laxman Thapa, treasurer of the foundation informed that one lakh cash prize will be given to the writer. Earlier, there was a balance of 1.6 million in the fund.
