The first Nepali book on creative journalism 'Creative Journalism: Hand Book' has been published. The book written by journalist and scholar Tumraj Koira has been made available from this week, according to the Office of Publishers and Communications Registrar, Bagmati Province.

According to Communications Registrar Revati Prasad Sapkota, the book has been published with the aim of providing basic information in Nepali about the new practice in world journalism to reduce the frustration and negativity that is spreading in the society. With the rapid development of technology, due to the widespread spread of negative news, Sapkota informed that its practice is increasing in different countries of the world with the expectation that creative journalism will restore the trust towards journalism. He said that the book is expected to guide those who want to adopt and study the practice.

Tribhuvan University, Head of Central Department of Journalism and Mass Communication Dr. Kundan Aryal has expressed his belief that the book will inspire Nepali journalists to practice creative journalism. He mentioned the role of the book as the conclusion that the journalism students who will be driving the newsroom in the future will find the book useful to advance Nepali journalism in a creative direction with a new speed.  Leaders of international organizations leading creative journalism practices have also written roles in the

book. Tina Rosenberg, the co-founder of 'Solution Journalism Network' and a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, who is promoting the creative practice of journalism under the name 'Solution Journalism', says about the book, 'With the active initiative of Nepali journalists, journalism-related organizations and policy makers, solution journalism is no longer limited to just a concept, it has entered the practice stage . This book, prepared by a trainer recognized by the Solutions Journalism Network, is also a product of that.

Similarly, Ulrik Hagarup, founder and chief executive officer of the Constructive Institute at Ahrus University in Denmark, has written in the role, 'This book has documented Nepal's commitment to democracy and the courage to rethink the role of journalism. The book makes it clear that if journalism deteriorates, the common understanding of all of us is that democracy is in crisis. Yes .'  Kate Torney, Asia-Pacific director of the

institute and professor of creative journalism at Monash University in Australia, said in the role of the book, 'Now is the time - to bring about a change in journalism that inspires, informs and empowers citizens . And, that change starts with creative journalism.'

Author Koirala, who is doing MPhil-PhD research in journalism from Tribhuvan University, said that the book has been prepared as an eye window to the practices and ongoing campaigns in the world about creative journalism. He says, "While studying for research, I realized that the practice of creative journalism is indispensable in the Nepali context as well." Therefore, with the aim of sharing the acquired knowledge, the work has been done in the form of a book.'

Koirala, who has practiced journalism for more than a decade and a half in various roles in various media including Kantipur Publications, Annapurna Media Network, Naya Prakashan, Radio Nepal, is also involved in journalism teaching . He is an accredited trainer for solutions journalism from the Solutions Journalism Network.
