Deepa Dahal's first collection of stories 'Vijayini' was released in Biratnagar on Saturday.
Poet and writer Kunta Sharma, Deputy Professor Dr. Asmita Bista and writer Deepa Dahal jointly launched the work. Speaking at the
program, poet and writer Kunta Sharma said that 'Vijayini' is a collection of excellent stories from both angles of thought and craft. Stating that the stories have a fair depiction of the society, she said that Dahal had given serious writing skills in his first work. Sharma also mentioned that the society is depicted in a subtle and interesting way like BP's stories.
Deputy Professor Dr. Asmita Bista said that Dahal's characters are rebels who reject the status quo of discrimination and violence and said that the author has also presented male psychology and tribal culture in an interesting way. She mentioned that this book is a must-read work especially for young readers to understand the situation of women in Nepali society.
